Solar radiation (UV) sensors are ultraviolet sensors that allow the use of the photoelectric effect of metal and the multiplier effect of gas. They have a narrow sensitivity band in the range from 185 to 260 nm and are completely insensitive to visible light. Unlike semiconductor sensors, they do not require additional optical filters, which makes them easy to use. With its small size and wide viewing angle, the sensors reliably respond to weak ultraviolet radiation.
